In de herfst van zijn leven krijgt de Baron von Münchhausen te horen dat er een boek is verschenen over zijn avonturen. Een boek dat hem populariteit oplevert, en een zekere naamsbekendheid over de grenzen heen, jazeker, maar… het confronteert hem ook met zijn eigen sterfelijkheid. Bovendien is de Baron een rasverteller en niet zomaar een held van papier. Daarom besluit de Baron voor een laatste keer de puntjes op de ü te zetten, en niemand doet dat zo bevlogen als de Baron von Münchhausen!
